Standard IEC 61851-1, search on the IEC official website, this series of standards a total of 6, the current version is shown in the figure below; IEC 61851-1 defines three connection modes and four charging modes, as follows

Charging mode (1,2,3,4) and connection case (Case A,B,C)

Connection Case A: This connection method is that the charging cable is permanently fixed on the electric vehicle, and the plug is connected to the charging network.

Connection Case C: This connection mode is that the charging wire is permanently fixed on the charging network, and the plug is connected to the electric vehicle when charging.

Charging mode (1,2,3,4) and connection case (Case A,B,C)

Charging Mode 1: Mode 1 is the way the electric vehicle is connected to the standard socket of the AC power supply network using cables and plugs, neither of which is equipped with any supplementary guides or auxiliary contacts; It is the flying line charging, which is not allowed in Chinese GBT standard.

Charging mode 2: Mode 2 is the way that electric vehicles use AC power supply equipment to connect to the standard socket of the AC electric vehicle power supply network. The AC electric vehicle supply equipment has cables and plugs, control guidance function and anti-electric shock protection system located between the standard plug and the electric vehicle; It’s a control guidance and protection circuit on top of the flight wire.
